1. How long have you been with WNRN and how did you get started?
I have been at WNRN in a full-time capacity since June 2024. However, I got my start at WNRN in 2019 as an intern turned part-time employee in the Traffic/Underwriting Department while I was studying at UVA. After a few years, I’m happy to be back.
2. What should WNRN listeners know about your show, and/or your music tastes?
My music tastes are primarily centered in the ’60s to the ’80s, from British Invasion, Motown, and the American Folk Music Revival to classic rock/pop and new-wave. I’m a massive Beatles fan, and their music has been formative in shaping what I listen to. However, you can also find some modern indie/alternative and pop albums in my collection.
3. What’s your favorite, recent music discovery?
I’d say my favorite recent music discovery has been The Heavy Heavy. I first heard them on WNRN and I absolutely love their album One of a Kind.
4. What might be an unexpected artist on your personal playlist?
Charli xcx. Brat was certainly a soundtrack of the summer for me this year.
5. A couple of firsts: What was the first concert you ever attended? What was the first album you ever bought?
The first concert I ever attended was Hall & Oates in 2014 at Wolf Trap. I can’t quite remember the first album I ever bought, but definitely one of the first most formative albums I bought was Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. I bought it on CD when I was ten years old and would play it non-stop on my portable CD player on my bus ride to school.
6. What would be your 1-3 Top ‘Desert Island’ albums? The ones you would want with you if stranded on a desert island. Why?
Narrowing down “Desert Island” albums is tough! I’d haul an entire suitcase of albums if I could (but that would defeat the point)! At the moment I’d say The Visitors by ABBA, Revolver by the Beatles, and NFR! by Lana Del Rey. They are all albums that I never get bored listening to, and I find something new in them everytime I listen.
7. What are some of your favorite hobbies/things to do outside of music and radio?
Outside of my love of music and radio, I love to spend my time doing videography projects, reading, or volunteering in my local community. I also enjoy time with my family and dogs.
What shows are you looking forward to in 2025 / What were some of your favorite shows in 2024?
In 2024, some of my favorite shows I attended were Wallows at Merriweather Post Pavilion, Sabrina Carpenter at John Paul Jones Arena, and Faye Webster at Brown’s Island.
