The Role
We’re seeking a Business Development Associate to grow corporate sponsorships and underwriting across WNRN’s broadcast and digital platforms. This role is about cultivating real partnerships, not simply selling schedules. You’ll connect local, regional, and statewide businesses with one of the most engaged audiences in Virginia while supporting the mission-driven programming that defines WNRN.

This is where relationship-building, storytelling, and strategic thinking come together to help clients achieve measurable results—on air, online, and at WNRN-hosted events across Virginia.

What You’ll Do
• Identify, prospect, and close new business throughout Virginia.
• Build and maintain relationships with businesses, agencies, and nonprofit partners
• Present customized, multi-platform sponsorship opportunities across broadcast, digital, and live events
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver campaigns that serve clients and uphold our mission.
• Represent WNRN with professionalism, purpose, and a focus on sustainable revenue growth.

What We’re Looking For
• Experience in media sales, advertising, fundraising, customer service, or sponsorship development.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate audience value into client outcomes.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment and travel across the state as needed.
• A results-focused mindset grounded in public service values.
• Creativity, curiosity, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
