Three Notch’d Road: The Virginia Baroque Ensemble is a nonprofit based in Charlottesville that seeks to enrich the culture of Central Virginia through historically informed performances that reveal the beauty of early music.
They are presenting public concerts in Staunton and Charlottesville Friday, September 18 through Sunday, September 20. The program, entitled “Cello Joy,” will feature string chamber music by Luigi Boccherini, an Italian composer who worked for the royal court in Madrid. The program will include two cello quintets that showcase Boccherini’s Spanish-influenced style.
