CARE Rockbridge’s biggest event every year, the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Parade, was started in 2016 in response to the actions of white supremacists in the Lexington community. Now, 10 years later, CARE continues to stand up against discrimination with their parade, peaceful demonstrations, and a new initiative called Reading in Color.
