Internships
WNRN is currently offering an internship for spring 2025. This internship will take place in person at our offices & studio in Charlottesville, VA.
WNRN considers an internship to be a semester-length position that is directly affiliated with an accredited College or University. This is an unpaid internship for the spring 2025 session, approx. 10 – 12 hours a week. This internship is approximately 15 weeks long or the equivalent of the spring 2025 semester.
Position Summary:
Assist the WNRN team with various Membership, Events/Promotions, and studio tasks. Applicant should have the desire to work and learn in a fast paced and fun environment. This position is best for applicants who have a love for attending concerts, discovering new artists, and learning more about the music industry at large.
Essential duties can include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with various radio station tasks and projects
- Shadowing staff members to learn about different jobs within the radio station
- Assist with updating content for website
- Support the Events & Promotions Manager for live events
- Support the Membership team for fundraising
General Qualifications:
- Reliable transportation
- Strong interest in music and the music industry
- Experience with social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
- Familiar with Microsoft Office
- Positive attitude and desire to learn
Skills Learned:
- Gain experience in radio
- Content creation for web
- Community relationships within the music industry
- Gain hands-on experience in the non-profit sector
- Organizational skills in scheduling and time management
