Ghent Area Ministry is a nonprofit based in Norfolk that serves the community’s marginalized, transitional, low-income and homeless. They have been in existence for 25 years and operate both a food pantry and a clothes closet. They also provide HRT transportation, ID and Social Security Card replacement costs, and rental assistance dependent on the situation.
They are open Monday through Friday from 10AM-2PM. Last year, they provided 40,000 pounds of food to 4695 individuals, hand-held meals to 2904 homeless and clothing to 1459 people.
