The Piedmont Master Gardeners know that many gardeners love to share what they grow, and they often grow more than their households can consume or preserve. With Share Your Harvest, you can use the extra bounty of your garden to help the hungry. Over the past five years, this program has worked to help gardeners donate their extra produce to food pantries around the area.
For a list of emergency food providers that accept fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, an interactive map of donation sites, as well as information on how gardeners can help reduce food waste and food insecurity in the community, you can visit piedmontmastergardeners.org.
