Community Connection: Lily Pads

LilyPads Housing is a nonprofit in Charlottesville that provides housing to out-of-town families whose children are undergoing treatment at UVA Children’s Hospital. Oftentimes, families must travel long distances and may stay for an extended amount of time while their child is in treatment. Housing options are limited in the area and LilyPads wants to lift the burden of finding and affording lodging during what is already a stressful time in their lives. The organization connects families with volunteer hosts who open their homes and properties to guests who need it. They are currently recruiting more hosts who have stand-alone spaces that they are willing to share with these families in need.
