Accounts Receivable and Billing Specialist

This new position reports to the Director of Finance and Administration and works closely with the sales department, assisting in administrative tasks, monthly billing activities, and reporting as well as the membership department to track contributed revenue. The specialist will be responsible for managing billing activities and handling accounts receivable related to customer payments.

Must appreciate great music, enjoy the experience of local events, and embrace the culture of community.

Responsibilities

  • Enter contracts into QuickBooks, create invoices, and review invoices with the Director of Client Accounts for accuracy and documentation
  • Track contracts and codes appropriately
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable data
  • Create delinquency reports for review with the sales department
  • Maintain client relationships and resolve client billing issues
  • Facilitate collection of invoices due by sending statements, bill reminders, and contacting clients by email and phone
  • Track and record trade balances
  • Record and reconcile contributed revenue with fundraising department
  • Manage payments and cash at offsite events

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks online or similar bookkeeping software, 2 years experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Customer service skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work within time deadlines by prioritizing workload and understanding the priority business outcomes
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or training in accounting or finance is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proven ability to actively resolve customer inquiries in a timely manager with a high degree of customer service

Salary range $45-50,000; Benefits include PTO, health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and 401k match.

Public Affairs Manager & On Air Host

The Public Affairs Manager for WNRN contributes short form, produced, non-music programming to be integrated within the music programming, highlighting the messages of non-profit organizations within the WNRN listening area across Virginia as part of our Hear Together feature. The Public Affairs Manager is responsible for researching and identifying on-air candidates, working with the Programming Team, Production Team and Creative Team to produce the Hear Together features for on-air and digital media.

This position will also be responsible for a daily, weekday on-air shift and other shifts as assigned. Candidates should have a passion for both supporting our non-profit community and exploring the creative music community of Listener-Supported Independent Music Radio WNRN while sharing that excitement and experience with our members and listeners.

Responsibilities:

Screen organizations to ensure compliance with Hear Together rules of inclusion, in accordance with non-profit and FCC guidelines; schedule and conduct interviews with chosen partners in a timely manner; coordinate with outside organizations profiled to develop each feature comprehensively.

Plan and schedule the Hear Together features in the broadcast calendar, including scriptwriting, audio recording and audio production, along with management of producers to assist in recording, while crafting the overall sound and final product of the program.

Conduct follow-up activities designed to raise awareness with the members of each organization profiled and each organization whose activities are promoted on WNRN through Hear Together, including coordination with WNRN’s Community Advisory Council for assistance with this.

Administer record keeping of all organizations profiled, to complete and submit WNRN’s Quarterly Issues Report.

Host a daily, weekday on-air shift, and other on-air shifts as assigned

Occasional travel within Virginia

Qualifications:

  • 2+ Years of Audio Production Experience, preferably in news production or short form content (e.g., podcasts), including scriptwriting, studio and field audio recording equipment, and production with a proficiency in Adobe Audition.
  • 2+ Years of On-Air Experience hosting a music-focused, informative, and entertaining show.
  • A passion for supporting and highlighting non-profit organizations to share their messages with quality and care, and joining a creative, eclectic, and curious music community with like-minded music lovers.

Full time position salary $55-60,000
