“On the surface, this is a group of straightforward guitar pop songs. I’m refining my primary sound and style through simplicity, brevity, and clarity,” Mould said in a press statement. “Under the hood, there’s a number of contrasting themes. Control and chaos, hypervigilance and helplessness, uncertainty and unconditional love.”
The first studio album since 2020 from Bob Mould is available on March 7.

Charles Wesley Godwin always dreamed of being a professional football player, until he didn’t make the team in college and decided to pursue other hobbies, like the guitar. On the next World Cafe, Godwin talks about switching from sports to music, playing his first gig (in Estonia), and eventually opening for folks like Luke Combs and Jason Isbell.
