Valley Open Doors is a nonprofit in Harrisonburg on a mission to provide safe shelter for the unhoused, as well as compassionate support and access to services for all in our community.

As they continue to respond to homelessness and other hardships in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, they are changing the tune for those they serve. Valley Open Doors is hosting their first ever Coldest Night of the Year; a winterrific family-friendly walk at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds on Saturday, February 22nd.

You can participate individually, on a team, or support a walker. They invite you to gather for good… because it’s cold out there.

Court Square Theater, a program of Arts Council of the Valley in Harrisonburg, is a nonprofit theater hosting concerts featuring singer-songwriters, bluegrass musicians, pop tributes, and more throughout the Spring.

They invite you to join them for performances with artists like Kody Norris, Irene Kelley, and Robbie Limon.

Innerwork Center is a nonprofit organization located in Richmond’s Museum District. Throughout 2025, they invite you to join them for The Bench, a monthly community sit happening the last Saturday of every month from 4 to 5 PM at their Gathering Space.
The Bench is open to the public—and is a safe and welcoming space, free of dogma or division, where they aim to hold the fullness of life—the questions, the edges, and the mysteries—with compassion and presence. Sitting together in silence, they aim to create a sacred community where healing can take root, where they can listen deeply and recognize our shared connection.

Whether you stay for a few moments or the full hour, The Bench offers a practice of being with life, as it is, in a space of quiet connection and community.
