Hear Together: Three Notch’d Road: The Virginia Baroque Ensemble Valentine’s Program
Three Notch’d Road: The Virginia Baroque Ensemble is a nonprofit based in Charlottesville that seeks to enrich the culture of Central Virginia through historically informed performances that reveal the beauty of early music.
They are presenting the third program of their fourteenth season in Staunton, Crozet, and Charlottesville public concerts on Friday, February 14th; Saturday, February 15th; and Sunday, February 16th. This Valentine’s program, entitled “If Music Be the Food of Love,” will celebrate love in its many forms through a blending of Italian pastoral drama with songs from the British Isles. This program will feature soprano Sheila Dietrich and historical clarinetist Dominic Giardino and include vocal and instrumental chamber music by Vivaldi and Handel and the songs of Henry Purcell.
