Free Weekly Download: Redeem Your Track

Maribou State, the duo made up of Chris Davids and Liam Ivory, announce their new album Hallucinating Love, due January 31. Alongside the news comes brand new single “Otherside” featuring long-time collaborator and vocalist Holly Walker. “Otherside” is your Free Weekly Download at WNRN.org. “We’ve always been very hidden in the project, and revelled in the ambiguity and anonymity,” admits Liam. “But as we’ve gotten older, we’ve wanted to show who we are much more. And naturally it made sense to then point towards British dance music culture because it’s something to be really proud of.”

Beth Gibbons Mini Concert on World Cafe

The lead singer of Portishead, Beth Gibbons, has one of the most distinct voices in popular music. Earlier this year she released her debut solo album, Lives Outgrown, to critical acclaim – it was nominated for Britian’s biggest music award, The Mercury Prize. Coming up, Beth Gibbons joins us for a mini concert playing songs from Lives Outgrown, recorded at Royal Albert Hall in London, complete with an eight-piece band, on the next World Cafe.
