Hear Together: Open Doors

Open Doors is a nonprofit that has provided safe shelter for the unhoused, as well as compassionate support and access to services for all in the Harrisonburg-Rockingham community for 17 years.

This year, they are expanding and growing your impact through the Navigation Center, which will be home to a year-round low-barrier shelter and a daytime drop-in center that will serve those facing homelessness and other hardships in our community. They’re also creating a new kitchen program and expanding their resource coordination to meet those in need where they are and help them with long-term success.

Open Doors invites you to join them in their life saving and life-changing mission through their Planting Our Roots campaign, which is designed to seed this historic milestone, as they continue to extend and expand their compassionate response.

Hear Together: Crozet Winter Brews Fest

The Crozet Winter Brews Fest is hosting their 6th Annual event on Saturday, December 7th at Claudius Crozet Park.

They invite you to celebrate the change of season with over 30 craft brews, winter warmers, seasonal beers, local ciders and barrel aged brews! There will be samples, local food trucks, and live music from Matthew O’Donnell and Brisk Band ‘90s throwback. You can get festive with an ugly sweater contest or your Retro Après Ski Gear.

Hear Together: HumanKind Ways to Work

HumanKind is a statewide nonprofit offering a community program called Ways to Work in Lynchburg, Richmond, Roanoke, and Warrenton.

They help individuals access reliable transportation with fair interest vehicle loans if they don’t qualify at a bank or credit union and keep people from high interest rate in-house financing and buy here pay here loans.

Les Temps Perdu Playlist 11/24/24

On Sundays from 12-2 p.m. Drew, Dan, and Mike practice indie-rock archaeology as co-hosts of Les Temps Perdu. Tune in for two hours of old-school glam, punk, new wave, alternative, grunge, and indie-rock from the 70s through the mid-90s.

The Devil Makes Three announced their new album, Spirits, to release on February 28. The title track is your Free Weekly Download at WNRN.org. Spirits is the Devil Makes Three’s first album in 7 years. “There’s a theme of ghosts and death running through this album,” acknowledges frontman and principal songwriter Pete Bernhard, who lost his mother, brother, and closest childhood friend while making the record.

Call it an American Invasion: Lucinda Williams crossed the Atlantic to record her new album, Lucinda Williams sings the Beatles from Abbey Road. We’ll feature music from her tribute to the Fab Four, and revisit a conversation with Lucinda from last year, where she talks in depth about her memoir “Don’t Tell Anybody the Secrets I Told You”, including the stories behind of some of her most iconic songs. It’s Lucinda Williams on the next World Cafe.
