Hear Together: JackFest

JackFest is an event benefiting two organizations that support families facing a serious childhood illness—the Ronald McDonald House of Charlottesville and the pediatric cancer program at UVA Children’s Hospital.

They welcome you to join them this year at Foxfield in Albemarle County on Sunday, October 20th from Noon to 4 PM.

JackFest will feature activities for people of all ages—including kids and family running races, bounce houses, a truck touch, and a selection of food trucks and local beverages for adults.

Les Temps Perdu Playlist 9/22/24

On Sundays from 12-2 p.m. Drew, Dan, and Mike practice indie-rock archaeology as co-hosts of Les Temps Perdu. Tune in for two hours of old-school glam, punk, new wave, alternative, grunge, and indie-rock from the 70s through the mid-90s.

Jamie xx on World Cafe

During the pandemic, Jamie xx of The xx envisioned a time when he could DJ to crowds again. In doing so, he began listening to all types of records across all eras of dance music. His new solo album, In Waves, reflects that time. It’s eclectic, joyful, and packed full of superstar collaborators like Honey Dijon, Robyn and – of course – his bandmates in The xx. On the next World Cafe, Jamie xx talks about making In Waves, and shares some choice cuts from The Floor, his DJ residency in New York City.

Please join the Grateful Dead and Phriends with Marc Smith and Ed Monde every Saturday from 9 a.m. – noon.
