Community Connection: Literacy Volunteers Charlottesville/Albemarle

Literacy Volunteers Charlottesville/Albemarle is a nonprofit that promotes adult literacy in the Greater Charlottesville area through confidential one-to-one English and Citizenship tutoring. They are recruiting volunteers to tutor adults in English speaking, reading, and writing. Additionally, many of their students are in need of support in preparing for their U.S. Citizenship interviews.

If you would like to provide one-to-one instruction to adults in our community, they invite you to attend a New Tutor Training. No teaching experience is required. Their next New Tutor Trainings will be held at the Jefferson School City Center on Saturday, August 24 and Saturday, September 28 from 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. You can register and learn more online at LiteracyForAll.org.
