Community Connection: Shenandoah Valley Art Center

Shenandoah Valley Art Center is a nonprofit community art center in Waynesboro featuring exhibits, open artist studios, classes, and workshops. They’re now showing work from their members and contemporary cloth constructions from Susan Lapham.

Community Connection: Valley Hope Counseling Center

Valley Hope Counseling Center is a nonprofit agency in Waynesboro offering professional outpatient counseling services. They aim to provide affordable, quality mental health care to community members of any gender, race, religion or income. Their counselors work with clients to address a wide range of mental health and emotional stress issues.

Community Connection: Valley Music Academy Summer Programs

Valley Music Academy is a nonprofit in Waynesboro that provides music instruction to the community, offering need-based scholarships for children. This year’s summer programs include Musikgarten and Rock Band Workshop for teens.

Community Connection: Waynesboro First Aid Crew

Waynesboro First Aid Crew is a nonprofit 911 emergency transport agency in Waynesboro with a mission to provide quality pre-hospital emergency care and rescue services to the citizens of Waynesboro and the surrounding areas.

They are staffed and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Community Connection: Blue Ridge Children’s Museum

Blue Ridge Children’s Museum is are a nonprofit in Waynesboro that provides programming to families of young children to help connect them with the nature, culture, and community in the Central Shenandoah Valley through play and exploration.

Their Natural Playground is open to the public to come and explore. BRCM is getting ready to renovate the indoor space in the coming weeks for indoor and outdoor programs in the fall of 2024. They will be hosting many of their familiar programs like toddler time, family yoga, and seasonal programs. They also have some new programs to share that we are looking forward to bringing to the community.

Community Connection: Waynesboro Heritage Foundation

The Waynesboro Heritage Foundation is a nonprofit foundation which operates the Waynesboro Heritage Museum as well as the early 19th-century Historic Plumb House Museum in Waynesboro, Virginia. They preserve and share the history of Waynesboro and the immediate surrounding area.

They believe that preserving our collective history is a collaborative effort, and invite you and your family to visit them in Downtown Waynesboro, at the corner of Main and Wayne, to learn about Waynesboro together. Their doors are open 10-5 Tuesday through Saturday.
Along with a permanent gallery, they have on display until October an exhibit about the centennial of Waynesboro’s Rosenwald School, and opening this July 2nd is a new joint exhibit in collaboration with the Waynesboro Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs, who are celebrating 100 years of service to the community in 2025.
