The Virginia Canals & Navigations Society presents the 41st Annual James River Batteau Festival: an 8-day 120-mile journey on the James River from Lynchburg to Maidens Landing. The festival runs from June 20-27, with opportunities to interact with the participants and purchase t-shirts and other items at each stop. The stop in Scottsville on June 24 will also include music, food and other vendors as they host a batteau festival celebration. They welcome you to bring your friends and family out to see this historical reenactment event featuring 18th century tobacco boats.
