Beth Orton was driving when she found out she was dropped by her record label. She decided to take the reins, buy a beaten-up piano, and got to work on what would become her first self-produced record, Weather Alive. Nearly 25 years since the release of her debut album Trailer Park, Orton has a newfound sense of gratitude for life and the opportunity to make music. She joins host Stephen Kallao on the next World Cafe.
